The optimisations are described here. The relevant papers are:

2005 Antipa et al. Accelerated Verification of ECDSA Signatures
2020 Pornin. Optimized Lattice Basis Reduction In Dimension 2, and Fast Schnorr and EdDSA Signature Verification

It may make more sense to implement the mathematics in curve25519-elisabeth, rather than here.
