The current edition of the CTSF CMAF conformance suite is buried within the DASH IF conformance tool at http://conformance.dashif.org. Problems:
This URL is non-intuitive for those seeking a CMAF cofnrmance tool.
The landing page text and signage is focused on DASH validation and gives no hint at CMAF or CSTF functionality.
In order to initiate CTA WAVe compliance checks, a user must click on a gear icon in the top right corner. This is non-intuitive. The icon has no mouse-over prompts, and it looks like something to do with site settings, not a core workflow component.
In order to test content for CMAF compliance, it currently has to be packaged in a DASH manifest. There is no other way to supply content. For a generic tester, the UI should support supplying content packaged in HLS playlists, as well as individual files. These files can be supplied one at a time, or else in a zipped container.
We should have a separate landing page for CTA WAVE conformance checking which
Is branded CTA WAVE and clearly explains what can be checked and how to supply the content
Is pre-configured to have the CTA WAVE and CMAF profile enforcement selected. The alternate profiles (DASH IF, DVB, HbbTV) should not be visible.
Accepts input of content as DASH mpd, HLS master playlist, zipped ISO files and individual ISO files.
