Investigate whether the addition of a coloured pattern could assist testing.
This could be added on the left and/or right sides of the mezzanine video.

Specifically this would help to determine whether a device is correctly detecting WCG (e.g. BT.2020) / HDR (e.g. PQ) content (e.g. as signalled using fields in HEVC VUI).

This would not be intended to test rending quality/accuracy, only to help verify that a device is not failing to detect WCG/HDR content and incorrectly handling it as e.g. BT.709 SDR.
