Currently it throws not supported exception. Unless I am missing something, to my knowledge append is supported by Hadoop.

hello @243826 . I're right, in recent versions for HDFS, append mode is supported.
The pb here is that I worked with versions that didn't supported append mode when I wrote this package back in 2016.
As I'm working again on this package, I can take a look.
Just by curiosity, which version of Hadoop do you use?
