I have a hypothesis that people do not use the homepage to find events. Rather, organizers probably contact users directly (for example via facebook) and link them to the event in Dancerfly. I propose that we should focus the homepage on the organizer experience. If you're not logged in, it should be a marketing page explaining why you should create your events on Dancerfly, and if you're logged in it should be a more in-depth dashboard of all your organizations and events.
Investigate whether people truly arrive at event pages primarily from Facebook or whether it is more varied
Investigate whether homepage is used by non-bots
If this project moves forward, move list page elsewhere for SEO indexing purposes (?)

I suspect you're probably right and after a moment's thought would be OK making this change with minimal research. (Maybe we can just compare homepage visits versus landing directly on an event? Maybe also cross reference with referrers?)
Aspirationally, I'm attached because I think it would be nice if Dancerfly were the place to go to find dance events, but I doubt it is that for many people right now and perhaps we should save a design that addresses that for a time if and when we have larger market share or allow calendering events that aren't using us for ticketing...
