Assignment attempts not allowing extra attempts when using re-open automatically until pass.

Hi Dan,

We are testing this plugin to find a solution so that students can re-take a course afresh - akin to reseting a student. On testing in M4.2 vanilla install, we are finding that Assignments are retaining previous feedback and attempts - and therefore not allowing any further attempts - despite "Give student extra attempt/s" being enabled.

The assignment has a 2 attempt limit, and set to re-open automatically until pass grade. These conform to our organisation policy for any given enrolment.

Is this a known issue?

We have found no other way for a student to re-take a course, which boggles my mind in such a mature LMS. Many thanks for your work on this plugin. Cheers, Rob.

doesn't sound familiar - could be a bug or an issue with the settings you have made on the assignment - feel free to update us here if you manage to work it out! :-)

I suspect it's something related to the "re-open automatically until pass grade" setting - and in these cases you might need to use the delete attempts option within the re completion settings as they do not really allow for manual re-opening/adding of extra attempts.

If someone can work out a sensible way to manage this rather than deleting the assignment attempt in the settings I'm open to suggestions.
