One of the most important parts of open source is the licenses used. Currently, this presentation has no consistent way of marking licenses used by things featured in it.
To make matters worse, because AFOLs aren't always open source people, many of them genuinely do not realize that there are good reasons to formally offer an open license on their work (even if they do make the source code available and encourage people to use it). The lack of licensing makes whether or not something counts as an example of the open source philosophy highly debatable.
