What is Viagee #82

I now think it's not David's nickname, but some name given by ??? As per this notice: But it steel feel weird. |
The notice is on the home page. The audit process was... interesting. It lasted a year, which frankly is wasn't enough time, given delays in reviews, and the capriciousness of the responses. The branding issue was introduced very close to the final deadline, leading to the current situation. |
I found part of the info I needed to give my trust, but most users will either respond automatically, or refuse to trust gnome-gmail. Perhaps a popup explaining why you'll see the request to trust that on the first opening. But I think the packages (Ubuntu in my case) should introduce the weird behavior. |
So is it recommended to use viagee or gnome-gmail? Will the other be deprecated after some time? |
I still develop on gnome-gmail. The name should change at some point, but, given my experience with Google during the transition, and the state of the reviews in gnome-software, I'm not highly motivated re this particular issue. |
Glad I found this thread, I will update my PPA for gnome-gmail then. Thanks for this little utility BTW - it has been useful for me. :) |
When I first clicked a mailto (after installation), I had a weird request to trust Viagee, which I do not know. After searching on the net I linked it to @davesteele, bu it still feel weird to have to trust a a particular instead of an application (gnome-gmail). Here's what I get after clicking on a mailto: link :
Then after choosing my address, I get the unexpected request to trust Viagee :
