On my vanilla Nexus 6 it only gives me a black screen.
Installed it with Google Play.

I am correct that this is the "Anyplace Sync Browser" from Aleph

I'm not having any issues with other software.

I had the same problem. You have to go into your app settings and give it permission to access your storage.

The owner of this project hasn't reacted in a while, you might want to have a look at the fork https://github.com/Nutomic/syncthing-lite/
