The current board is tab-able but should work with the arrow keys.

This would be great. Yes.
I wonder, this might be hard to implement for general use, as the page it is embedded in might use many keys already.

However. I'd add the wish for a key that goes back to the empty board.

I think it should be fine because the arrow keys would only take over once the board itself gained focus (like a radio group).
