build of headless linux fails

on linux (debian 12 + X11), using 3.3.0
using editor build or bob.jar 1.9.5 alpha with --platform x86_64-linux --variant headless both are unable to complete bundle creation.

Hm, what is the reason you want to run this in headless mode? 🤔

It was part of figuring why i can't run it on linux, building with bob first at debug variant, then as headless.
