Hi, This is an enhancement request. Pls let me know if it should be entered somewhere else.

  1. Add a new line to the logbook automatically whenever the boat engine is started or stopped (ie. when an Engine NMEA sentence appears/disappears on the network)
  2. Enter the engine hours into the logbook automatically

Alternatively limit the enhancement to the above 2. Let the user click on "Engine ON" / "Engine OFF" to create new lines after engine startups/stops.

How often is the engine hours XDR sent?
If we have to decide if the engine is running or not from those messages, they should be send regularly.

I concur. Every time I pause the NMEA display window while the engine is running, I see the engine hours. Therefore I think they are sent virtually every second. Not seeing the XDR during say, 10sec probably means that the engine was turned OFF.
