Currently we can draw galaxies with random sizes and ellipticities. However, we will need to include galaxy samples that have realistic distributions for sizes, ellipticities, bulge + disk decomposition, and fluxes (in different bands). There exists an (unvalidated) descwl galaxy catalog method in the pipeline so far.

  • Get COSMOS field catalog with griz DES fluxes, from Will (this will be final version used for calibration)
  • Implement a COSMOS galaxy option in pipeline
  • Optional: Also update + validate the descwl catalog (maybe helpful to have 2nd option for "realistic galaxies").
