I have setup kvm-qemu on my host x86_64 machine having virtualization support available. The host OS running is Ubuntu 14.04-LTS.

Hear the Host OS means the when KVM loaded as a kernel module it should have the host gnu/linux. So to make bare metal hypervisor using the kvm-qemu host OS require. It is possible to boot up guest OS along with the host OS like two PCs are booting together in singlw window.

Virtualization Type : Type II . Bare metal Hypervisor
GUI used : Virtual Manager using libvirt library
Guest OS : Ubuntu-14.04

Issues addressed : Ping between host and guest OS running on VM. Created the virtual bridge interface.

Issues to be addressed:

  1. Terminal has bad fonts and colors schemes. Terminal opens in unexpected window. (Half usable/White color). Whatever I am coding is not visible until minimiza it and then maximize it.
  2. Communicating Host OS and the Guest OS using TCP socket Communicate host OS and Guest OS running on Virtual machine #1
