Is this safe to use or should it be considered unstable and abandoned?

The implementation is, apart from some minor caveats functional, usable and stable (the UCI syntax hasn't changed in ages). It also has no external dependencies which need constant maintenance (not counting the testing library).

Some features are not supported though, like comments in files, or CFGID accessors. We've also stopped using it actively, so the library went to the back burner.

That being said, I'll accept PRs when they come along and can find some time for reviews/guidance.
