How to use document loader

Hi,

I am following the README.md for signing the credentials. But couldn't figure out what exactly is document loader.

I tried to create a custom document loader which was given another repo, but that didn't help me much. Could someone help me out what exactly is the document loader and point me to few examples or documentation regarding document loader?

And also is there any way we can sign a credential without using document loader?

(And no, a loader is required to sign.)
