CRK keyboard crashes, CRK-Cans does not

With the latest keyboard builds (at least 2.99.1, build 14), the crk-Latn keyboard crashes after half a second or so. It stays alive long enough to make the key labels readable, and sometimes stays alive as long as one does not touch a single key. As soon as one types something it just disappears.

My guess would be the speller is broken.
