I was curious about how to upgrade these docker images, and right now I'm not able to. The alpine multi-container stack doesn't survive a docker-compose down and back up again.

The stack creates 39 new volumes each time you recreate containers, instead of retaining the original ones, so the stack breaks and you are forced to wipe data and everything.
