gpg: use minibuffer for passphrase entry (pinentry)

My emacs gpg used to ask me the passphrase in emacs' minibuffer. But after updating Doom and my packages, it now uses the OS (/usr/local/bin/pinentry-mac) GUI pinentry program. How can I revert this behavior?

I did read about pinentry.el, but I didn't have that before, and I also cannot find a pinentry-emacs package on Homebrew.

Everything doom-side is taken care of by the :config default module, as long as you have its +gnupg flag enabled. I don't see your doom-info so no telling if that's the issue or not.
