Until Solo there was no "standard" drone with a companion computer - it was all DIY. So what we did is point to the various Companion Computer options on the wiki which explain how to do all setup (including getting the files on board). This is Linux computing, so there are a number of ways of getting files to a device - FTP, rsync, wget - whatever.
Mid-term there will be a lot more Companion Computers configured as for Solo than any other DIY configuration, and this will have a pre-configured setup for getting files on board. Given that, it probably makes sense to update our docs with Solo-centric examples (talk about Solo and then point to the DIY options).
