Need to install jupyterlab >= 4.0 , but make sure to use conda install --freeze-installed, otherwise, we'll run into more dependency issues. See jupyter-widgets/ipywidgets#3847
This appears to be an issue with mercury, as updating jupyterlab, jupyter notebook, ipywidgets, etc. had no affect. After multiple iterations I decided to remove latex formatting for the time being (see commit dsa110/dsa110-pol@3a346e9 ). I will keep this issue open in case any new mercury versions address the issue. I've submitted an issue about this on the Mercury github page as well (mljar/mercury#462).
Most widget labels are unreadable because they appear as latex and are not interpreted by mercury.
