Indiviual oars should be registered in the system. For each oar, the following should be registered:

Oar serial number (numbering scheme is yet to be defined)
Blade type (Big blade, macon, etc)
Blade height
Blade length
Type (sweep/scull)
Side (port/starboard)
Make
Shaft length
Handle length
Purchase year
Vortex edge (yes/no)
Shaft type
Pitch
Gearing
Comments

Each oar should be either assigned to a boat or marked as reserve.
