I just clicked the fire button for the first time. I had been distracted by #3231 which might be related somehow.

Steps:

  1. Touch da spicy button 🔥
  2. Choose All sites
  3. Click Clear
  4. Wait

Expected behavior:

History erased. Maybe a nice message saying Yay, good job!

The first part did happen, at least.

Actual behavior:

Browser was hung for a long time with the progress bar bouncing back and forth, then came good after a several minutes.

I quit out of the browser and loaded it back up and tried the button again, same result. This does not sound like the intended experience.

I think my DDG is haunted 👻

Will reinstall tomorrow if no further suggestions.

I (accidentally) tempted fate by leaving the browser open all night.

I just clicked the clear button again because it was up, and I got the animation complete quick enough that I didn't see the progress bar.

Not been able to reproduce, even after reinstall. I'm thinking it was caused by whatever caused #3231 since they resolved together.

It happened again after importing bookmarks etc from firefox when re-installing DDG. The import process also hung for a while.
