Value of power pulled from the grid shows the total for the day, not the current usage. #544
Comments
You are misunderstanding power and energy. Energy is power over time. Your dashboard is working properly. If you are a python dev come see me on discord I'm banging my head on #486. I'm not a dev. Cheers and hav a nice day |
@ic-dev21 Yeah, Your are right. I got confused. I didn't notice that the the value would need to be converted to kWh. I should be able to get what I want using https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/integration/. As for the code, I'm not a python dev, but I'll join the Discord and see if I can be of help. |
Integration sensors are already included in the custom component if you
have your configuration.yaml setup correctly and the « generate energy
meters » checkbox checked.

Hello! Let me preface by saying I'm quite new to Home assistant.
I noticed a small bug with the actual setup for the meter generated by the integration. The current value shown in the "from the grid" section show the total for the day, not present value. As such, it will only go up throughout the day.
My understanding is that it should track / display the current value, like in this demo: https://demo.home-assistant.io/#/energy. That would be this value:
It would match what the HILO App shows for
Realtime Power
.This is my energy setup, as recommended in the documentation:
And my Hilo integration config:
I'm using the latest version of the integration:
2024.12.1
I would be happy to provide more information if required. I'm a developer by trade, so I would be happy to try to look into the issue if someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks for the integration!
