Listening to http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b062kx4n was reminded that quite a few people working in QS Like Coffee...
@SimonLab / @Danwhy should we get a "proper" machine? (If so, which one?)

One that doesn't make the obnoxious amounts of noise that the last one did.

Espresso machines all tend to be very noisy.
Pod machines are quieter, but terrible for the environment (and not great quality coffee.)
Maybe a filter machine? That could work a lot better for serving multiple people at once.

@Danwhy please do some research if you have time to figure out if there is a "quieter" espresso machine or if not which filter machine would we get?
