Eclipse Java editor has a convenience feature that allows to automatically place semicolons at correct position which is lacking in the C++ editor. Going from memory when I looked at the CDT code 10-some years ago there was an (abandoned?) attempt to also have it in the CDT editor, or perhaps it was just a side effect of a copy/paste situation in the CDT editor preference page. It appears the traces of it are still there as typing "semicolons" shows the C/C++/Editor/Typing page yet there is no "semicolons" on the page itself. At any rate, this is a request to provide parity with the Java editor and allow automatic placement of semicolons while typing.
