Steps to reproduce

This happens to me and my SO, we both receive notifications on our phone's we've received messages (and even see the text in the notification preview) but when we go to Element, no matter who it is, the messages a lot of the time just don't show in that actual chat room.

I also know this is specific to Element Android because:

  1. This doesn't happen on Element Desktop
  2. Using another Matrix client to the same homeserver with the same credentials on the same device does not have the problem.

Also, I've submitted multiple reports with rageshake on my phone including logs, I'm sick and tired of this going nowhere.

Outcome

I expected to actually read, in the correct order, the messages I literally just saw notifications for.
