Answering from the drop down menu is slow and makes my system hang #8756

Steps to reproduce

Someone writes something
I pull down the drop down menu and click on answer
I type in the message I want to send a send it
I wait for 1-2 minutes until the message is finally send

Outcome

What did you expect?

The message should be sent instantaneously

What happened instead?

Sending the message takes forever and sometimes results in a hanging system warning
