Jupyter Notebook is an application for creating and sharing computational documents. JupyterHub is a way of providing the Notebooks to multiple users. The benefit is that users gain easy interactive access to computational resources without need to install anything.
The goal of this issue is to create a user guide for accessing JupyterHub instances on ELIXIR Nodes.
Objective: Develop a user-oriented guide detailing how to access and use JupyterHub instances on ELIXIR nodes, aimed at new users.
Scope: Include logging in, navigating the environment, accessing datasets, using pre-installed tools, and basic troubleshooting tips.
How?
Several people can work on this issue, depending on the infrastructure type that have available.
Find out from ELIXIR Nodes if they support any JupyterHub on their infrastructure available to ELIXIR users.
If an ELIXIR Node supports an instance, gather information on how these instances can be accessed, test their possibilities and ease of use. If particular ELIXIR Node does not provide any JupyterHub instance, take note, let us know and we will reach out to them!
Create a sample notebook that will serve as a guidance for new JupyterHub users and provide information on how Jupyter Notebooks can be used, some interesting plug-ins, customizations and other tools that enhance data science job.
Take notes and later publish your findings in the documentation Hub\
