I've been following your perf related improvements with much anticipation and excitement. I created this issue and can now confirm with version 3.3.1 the example mentioned (without disabling log persistence), goes from 10s to +-670ms. This is an amazing perf improvement! I will do some more stress testing of these perf improvements next week but so far it's looking real good. Thank you so much for your work! You're a machine!

hi @sfmskywalker. it looks like this behaviour changed with 3.3.1, preventing me from performing additional perf tests on our massive workflows. any chance this can be looked at before the 3.3.2 release?
