Not sure if this the correct repository, but I am opening this issue to keep track of what we will be doing with EMO BON protocols and BeBOP (and also to share some updates).
BeBOP templates exist in both protocols.io but also in github.
Luke Thompson (NOAA) has experimented with adding the MIOP terms and Making eDNA FAIR metadata terms as YAML frontmatter on his lab's protocol templates (example here). This would be a great way to make it easier to pull out relevant metadata from the protocol template needed for later data submission. Luke is also working on potentially referencing these terms later in the protocol so users would only have to fill in the term value once (e.g. primer name) and it would automatically render in the protocol itself.
FYI,
There are two OBON projects (kind of sister projects to BeBOP) that we should keep an eye on: Making eDNA FAIR (led by Miwa Takahashi at CSIRO) and GOTeDNA (led by Anais Lacoursiere at DFO) (they also have a website)
You can also see this projects presented in the OBON spotlight series.
