<img src="images/logo-amint1.gif" alt="" width="127"> Aristotele, nel IV secolo A.C. aveva suddiviso gli " <b>Organismi viventi</b>" in due regni: <b>Animali</b> e <b>Piante</b>. Solamente nel 1735 <a class="Link2" onmouseover="stm(Text[1],Style[0])" onmouseout="htm()" href="#"><b>Carlo Linneo</b></a> pubblicava "<a class="Link2" onmouseover="stm(Text[2],Style[0])" onmouseout="htm()" href="#"><b><i>Systema naturae</i></b></a>" proponendo una suddivisione in categorie (Regno, Classe, Ordine, Famiglia, Genere e Specie).<br>
Il naturalista svedese prevedeva sempre due suddivisioni, <b>vegetali</b> e <b>animali</b>. I primi erano rappresentati da organismi fissi sul terreno, in grado di compiere la fotosintesi e altri organismi unicellulari come <b>batteri</b>, <b>alghe</b> e <b>funghi</b> (<b>organismi <a class="Link2" onmouseover="stm(Text[3],Style[0])" onmouseout="htm()" href="#">autotrofi</a></b>). Degli animali facevano parte organismi capaci di movimento (<b>organismi <a class="Link2" onmouseover="stm(Text[4],Style[0])" onmouseout="htm()" href="#">eterotrofi</a></b>) compresi anche i <a class="Link2" onmouseover="stm(Text[5],Style[0])" onmouseout="htm()" href="#"><b>Protozoi</b></a>.<br>
L’avvento della microscopia, in particolare la microscopia elettronica ha rivoluzionato questa suddivisione tanto che nel 1959 veniva proposta da <a class="Link2" onmouseover="stm(Text[6],Style[0])" onmouseout="htm()" href="#"><b>Whittaker</b></a> una suddivisione in 5 Regni:<br>

<li type="1"><b>Animalia</b>, comprendente organismi eucarioti pluricellulari eterotrofi che si nutrono introducendo sostanze alimentari in un tubo digerente in cui avviene la loro demolizione e digestione (ingestione)
<li type="1"><b>Plantae</b>, comprendente organismi eucarioti pluricellulari autotrofi che si nutrono per mezzo della fotosintesi;
<li type="1"><b>Fungi</b>, comprendente organismi eucarioti pluricellulari eterotrofi che si nutrono per assorbimento (ossia mediante il passaggio diretto delle sostanze attraverso la membrana cellulare);
<li type="1"><b>Protista</b>, comprendente organismi eucarioti unicellulari;
<li type="1"><b>Monera</b>, comprendente i procarioti, ossia archeobatteri, batteri e cianobatteri (alghe azzurre).<br>

Il mondo vegetale come ogni organismo vivente è costituito da cellule e sulla base della loro organizzazione è possibile suddividerlo in due grandi gruppi:

<li>Le "<b>Tallofite" o Piante non vascolari</b>", vegetali con organizzazione del corpo "<b>a <a class="Link2" onmouseover="stm(Text[7],Style[0])" onmouseout="htm()" href="#">tallo</a></b>", cioè dotate di una struttura vegetativa semplice (Alghe, Briofite, Epatiche e Muschi.
<li>Le "<b>Cormofite" o Piante vascolari,</b> piante con organizzazione del corpo "<b>a <a class="Link2" onmouseover="stm(Text[8],Style[0])" onmouseout="htm()" href="#">cormo</a></b>", caratterizzate dalla presenza di organi specializzati (<b>radice</b>, <b>fusto</b> e <b>foglie</b>).<br>
Sono <b><i>cormofite</i></b> le <b><i>pteri</i></b><b><i>dofite (</i>Felci<i>)</i></b>, le <b><i>gimnosperme</i></b> e le <b><i>angiosperme</i></b>.<br>

<li><b>Le alghe e i licheni</b>, organismi costituiti da diverse cellule ognuna delle quali svolge una propria funzione autonoma, in cui non compaiono veri tessuti, né tantomeno strutture specializzate (radici, fusto, foglie).<br>
<li><b>Le alghe pluricellulari</b> sono i più antichi rappresentanti del mondo vegetale, legati ad una vita acquatica dove trovano sali minerali e l’anidride carbonica e non hanno necessità di particolari organi o tessuti specializzati e perciò il loro corpo è formato da cellule tutte uguali. <li><b>Le Briofite</b><br>
Le più antiche piante che nel <a class="Link2" onmouseover="stm(Text[11],Style[0])" onmouseout="htm()" href="#">Siluriano</a> si sono adattate a vivere sulla terra ferma.<br>
Piante di piccole dimensioni, che mancano di strutture vascolari differenziate, infatti l’assorbimento e il trasporto dell’acqua e dei soluti avvengono soprattutto per capillarità e interessano tutta la superficie della pianta: A questo gruppo appartengono le<br>
<li><b>Epatiche</b> (8.000 specie) piccolissime e con rizoidi (finte radici) unicellulari, ed i<br>

Le <b>Cormofite</b> o<b> Piante vascolari</b> sono organismi costituiti da veri tessuti organizzati in parti funzionalmente diverse quali radici, fusto e foglie che insieme ad altri organi preposti alla riproduzione come fiori, frutti e semi formano le piante superiori.<br>
<b>Le piante vascolari</b> anche dette anche <b>Tracheofite</b> sono rappresentate da piante in cui sono presenti tessuti cavi che sono vasi di trasporto delle soluzioni nutritizie<br>

Prime piante a cormo (12.000 specie).<br>
La riproduzione avviene per mezzo di <a class="Link2" onmouseover="stm(Text[9],Style[0])" onmouseout="htm()" href="#">spore</a> e <a class="Link2" onmouseover="stm(Text[10],Style[0])" onmouseout="htm()" href="#">sporangi</a>, non hanno fiori né semi. (Crittogame vascolari)<br>
Queste piante erano molto diffuse nel <a class="Link2" onmouseover="stm(Text[13],Style[0])" onmouseout="htm()" href="#">Carbonifero</a> circa 350 milioni di anni fa. Hanno fusti striscianti detti rizomi che possono vivere per molti anni. Da questi rizomi si sviluppano piante a fusto verticale come licopodi o equiseti, e piante con strutture a foglia come le felci. Le piante vascolari senza semi hanno anche una riproduzione sessuata legata alla presenza dell'acqua.<br>
Si dividono in 4 tipi :<br>
<li><b>Psilofite</b> con ancora due generi viventi, <b><font color="#006400">Psilotum</font></b> (tropicale e subtropicale) e <b><font color="#006400">Tmesipteris</font></b> (nelle regioni del Pacifico meridionale).<br>
<li><b>Lycofite</b> comprende un migliaio di piante evolutesi partire dal <a class="Link2" onmouseover="stm(Text[14],Style[0])" onmouseout="htm()" href="#">Devoniano</a>. Dei quattro generi che ne fanno parte, il più noto è Lycopodium, con circa 200 specie diffuse dagli ambienti subartici a quelli tropicali. Un altro genere è <font color="#006400"><b>Selaginella</b></font>, composto da circa 700 specie distribuite nelle regioni tropicali..<br>
<li><b>Sphenofite</b> comparse nel Devoniano, nel Carbonifero raggiunsero il massimo sviluppo, con forme arboree alte fino a 15 m, chiamate calamiti. L’unico genere rappresentato da specie viventi è Equisetum (Equiseto);<br>
<li><b>Pterofite o felci</b> È la più ampia divisione di crittogame vascolari: comprende circa 12.000 specie viventi. Ne esistono di forme arboree diffuse nelle zone tropicali, ed erbacee diffuse in tutto il mondo. Hanno radici e fusto .e le foglie dette fronde presentano sulla pagina inferiore i sori cioè formazioni ovoidali in cui ci sono le spore che a maturazone vengono liberate e da cui si origina un altro organismo. Sono anch'esse diffuse in tutto il mondo.<br>

Dal greco: <i>spèrmatos</i> = seme e <i>phytòn</i> = pianta costituiscono una superdivisione a cui appartengono le Piante più evolute, con oltre 200.000 specie. Possiedono organi fiorali, grazie ai quali si riproducono tramite la formazione di semi. Per questa loro peculiarità, le <b>Spermatofite</b> sono anche conosciute col nome di <b>Antofite</b> (da <i>ànthos</i> = fiore) o, più anticamente, come <b>Fanerogame</b> ( <i>faneròs</i> = evidente; <i>gàmos</i> = nozze) e si differenziano dalle <b>Crittogame</b>, la cui riproduzione è affidata alle spore.<br>
Questo gruppo include quindi le piante più evolute, rappresentate dalle varie divisioni di <b>Gimnosperme</b> e dalle <b>Magnoliofite</b> (o <b>Angiosperme</b>). Alcuni botanici ritengono che vi sia un'altra divisione chiamata <b>Clamidosperme</b>, comprendente le classi <b>Gnetateae</b>, <b>Welwitschiate</b> e le <b>Ephedrate</b>, che presentano caratteri intermedi tra le <b>Gimnosperme</b> e le <b>Angiosperme</b>.<br>
Si riproducono per mezzo di fiori e semi e per la produzione dei fiori queste piante si chiamano <b>fanerogame</b> o <b>antofite. </b>Questa divisione è composta da due sottodivisioni:
<li><font size="3"><b>Gimnosperme</b></font> :(760 specie).<br>
Piante vascolari senza fiori. Il nome deriva dal greco <i>spermos</i> = seme e <i>gymnós</i> = nudo. Le <b>gimnosperme</b> sono piante legnose, di aspetto arbustivo o arboreo, raramente rampicante.Al contrario delle angiosperme o piante con fiori, i loro semi non sono racchiusi nel carpello, ma esposti fra le scaglie di strutture fiorifere chiamate coni o pigne.<br>

<li><font size="3"><b>Angiosperme</b></font> ( 235.000 specie) piante con fiori .<br>
<p>Il nome <b>angiosperme</b> deriva dalla parola greca composta da <i>aengeion</i> = involucro e <i>sperma</i> = seme. Occupano quasi tutte le nicchie ecologiche e rappresentano la divisione dominante nella maggior parte dei paesaggi naturali. Circa due terzi delle specie conosciute prosperano nei climi tropicali.<br>
Le Angiosperme sono suddivise in due classi comunemente chiamate <b>Monocotiledoni</b> e <b>Dicotiledoni</b>.<br>
