ScanSee program provides a convenient IDL widget tool of displaying various
1D/2D/3D scans saved by the IOC scan software. This program can also serve as
an approximate tool of displaying the realtime 1D/2D/3D scan data. The input
raw scan data is automatically saved by the IOC in XDR format.
This program can operate either in scan mode or view data mode. Since both
modes share the same 1D drawing area, if a user want to see the realtime data
1D plot while scan is going on, he should let the scan mode grab the control
of the 1D drawing area.
This program provide a ViewData menu which allows the user easily to access
the various scan browser sub-programs based on the type of 1D/2D/3D scan picked.
The ViewData->1D/2D... menu can bring up either W_VIEWSCAN or stand alone
scan browser (sscan). If scan is going on, to avoid the interference of
realtime plot, the stand alone sscan (scan browser) is brought up. If no
scan is going on, the W_VIEWSCAN program is brought up.
For the first time to start scanSee a user should use File->Open... to select
the input scan file from the appropriate data directory. The input file name is
automatically created by the scan saveData file system. The scan files
are sequenced accoding to the saveData sequence number. At the normal
completion of the scanSee program a configuration file "DC.config"
is created or updated at the current startup directory. The configuration file
"DC.config" later on will be used for easy re-start.
Please refer http://www.aps.anl.gov/~cha/scanSee.html for additional infomation
about scanSee package.
The functionality of user interface in DC.pro is given below:
File Menu
Open... - use the file selection dialog picking the desired scan file
(always re-use this option to pick another file if file
open error detected in scanSee)
Printer... - dialog overrides the default output printer
Quit - exit the scanSee IDL program
Setup Menu
Acquisition - turn acquisition on/off
(if user want to view other old scan while realtime scan is
going on, he/she can turn Acquisition to Off to avoid the
the realtime and viewing mode interference, let the viewing
program temporarily to possess the 1D drawing area)
Realtime - turns 1D realtime plot on/off
TextWin - turns 1D realtime text window on/off
Debug - turns debug message on/off
Scan... - sets up monitored scan1 and scan2 record PV name
Color... - calls the xloadct routine
Plot Options Menu
Colors - selects 1D plot in Color/Black&White
Lines - selects line style in Dotted/Solid only
Symbols - sets line plot in Line / Symbol / both
Grid - sets grid line Off/On
Error Bar - sets 10% error bar Off/On
Y Scale - sets y axis in Linear / Linear (y>0) / Log
Ranges... - dialog sets 1D plot ranges
Labels... - dialog sets 1D plot title and lebels
ViewData Menu
1D/2D... - calls 1D/2D W_VIEWSCAN sub-program or SB (scan browser)
IMAGE2D... - pass 2D image_array to IMAGE2D program for 2D/3D scan
1D OVERLAY... - calls 1D overlay sub-program for multiple files selected
1D CALIBRA... - calls calibration_factor sub-program for a 1D scan
SSCAN(1D/2D/3D)... - calls sub-program SSCAN for a 1D/2D/3D scan file
Print Menu
Plot - sends 1D plot to printer
Report... - dialog sets up various 1D ascii report option
Zoom Menu

User Scales... - dialog sets 1D plot ranges
Statistic Menu
None - turns off statistic calculation
Pick/Centroid/FWHM on Plot - writes pick/centroid/FWHM on plot
Pick/Centroid/FWHM... - writes pick/centroid/FWHM on plot plus text window
FWHM on Y
One... - uses plot1d to show FWHM on Y for 1st picked curve
All... - uses plot1d to show FWHM on Y for all 1D curves
FWHM on DY/DX
One... - uses plot1d to show FWHM on DY/DX for 1st picked curve
All... - uses plot1d to show FWHM on DY/DX for all 1D curves

Help... - show this help page
Bypass 3D:(Droplist) - YES (default option) implies to bypass the reading
of 3D data array
NO implies to read in appropriate 3D data array
Status Field
The status text field shows the monitored status of the scan record,
current 1D points acquired during 1D/2D scan.
Filename Label
The full path filename indicates the current file name picked.
Less/More Button
Reduces/Restores the information displayed in 1D realtime window.
1D Drawing Area
Plot 1D curves for all selected detectors, plus filename, scan #, etc...
DI Group Buttons
Group of detector selection buttons for a given 1D data array.
Xaxis Droplist (#/P1/P2/P3/P4)
Set plot X axis, default is positioner vector of P1.
If no positioner is defined, index vector # should be used.
Images Droplist
Select the detector list to be plotted in the realtime pan Image window.
Default all defined detectors will be plotted in the pan Image window.
Di-Dj - strip of detector Di to Dj is selected
All - including first to last detector
2D Image List
Select the desired realtime pan Image window size
Small - set pan Image cell size to 60x60 pixels
Large - set pan Image cell size to 120x120 pixels
Di - select detector Di image & plot in 200x200 pixels window
Refresh Button
Redraw the 1D plot with predefined line colors.
AutoScan...
This button appears only if the developer version is used, it
allows the user to setup few consecutive automatically 1D/2D scans.
IPLOT_1D
This button allows the user to access IDL interactive iplot tools.
It is not available in IDLVM version for IDL 6.0. It will be working
in IDLVM version IDL 6.1.
PS ratio 1,1/2,1/4
This option allows the user to scale the default 1D PS script plot
with the corresponding factor.
1D: scan1/scanH
This option allows the user to display the scanH 1D data array from
a 2D scan. By default 1D array from the scan1 record is displayed
in case the scanH record is defined.
Imin Slider and controls
This set widgets allows the user to set the start index of X axis in
panimge and image2d subprogram. This feature provides the user with
the option of flexiblely throwing away insignificant initial values
in image display.
