ETe and ETLegacy support IPv6 connections but the mod does not. Simple ban filtering specifically only handles ipv4 structures.

The ips are stored as a copied string in terms of normal session handling so okay on that front but banning would not work well. However, ETe newer engine filtering is preferable.
