The wallet is free to use. Users only pay network fees for sending transactions. Swaps incur fees set by our integrated providers, and vary depending on provider. All fees are shown in the transaction preview before the user confirms the transaction.

  • MEW Mobile has no KYC requirements and does not collect personal user data. MEW Mobile on iOS is available for download in the AppStore in the following countries: Australia, Austria, Afghanistan, Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Brazil, Hungary, Vietnam, Germany, Greece, Denmark, Egypt, India, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Kazakhstan, Canada, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Morocco, Mexico, Nepal, Nigeria, Netherlands, Oman, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, USA, Thailand, Taiwan, Türkiye, Ukraine, Finland, France, Croatia, Czech, Sweden, Sri Lanka, Estonia, South Africa, Japan. Who holds the private keys?

Users hold their own private keys. MEW Mobile does not have any access to user keys or wallets. Keys are saved locally on the device, and multi-layer encrypted with the use of secure enclave + local Keychain (iOS) or Android Keystore. Users receive a recovery phrase for backup, which they can use to restore their wallet in MEW or any other BIP39-compatible wallet.

Please describe the measures taken to ensure the wallet's security and provide documentation wherever possible

Has the wallet's smart contract code or security modules been audited?

No, MEW Mobile is not audited because it does not use its own smart contract, does not collect or hold personal user information, and does not have custody of user assets.

Does the wallet have an internal security team?

No, MEW works with PhishFort to monitor and take down phishing websites, apps, and communications (like emails and socials accounts) that pretend to be MEW with similar names and visual assets.

Any other security testing that should be noted?

No

Scam protection?

  • Users are warned when they are trying to send assets to a contract, which can potentially lead to loss of funds.
  • All URLs in the wallet browser are checked against a database of Phishing/Scam/Spam URLs, and users are warned if there’s a match.
  • Users are warned about the risks of interacting with third-party dApps.
  • Users can hide spam tokens in the interface, lowering the chance that they will interact with the token by accident.

Does the wallet support connecting to Ethereum applications?

Yes, the wallet features a web3 browser that allows users to connect to dapps on all supported networks.

Does the wallet support connecting to a hardware wallet?

No

Does the wallet support importing Ethereum RPC endpoints?

No

Does the wallet support viewing and interacting with NFTs?

Yes

Does the wallet support staking directly?

Yes, MEW Mobile offers in-wallet integrated Ethereum staking options for full validators with Staked and liquid staking with Lido

Yes, swaps are supported via multiple integrated providers and aggregators, including Paraswap, 1inch, and 0x.

No, but there is a direct link to Orbiter Finance which is opened inside the app.

Yes, MEW Mobile supports Ethereum, Polygon, BNB Smart Chain, and ZKSync.

Currently ZKSync, with Arbitrum One, Optimism, and Base coming soon.

Does the wallet support importing or automatically querying and displaying ERC-20 tokens?

MEW Mobile supports all ERC-20 tokens automatically, without the need for import.

Yes, users receive their recovery (mnemonic) phrase on wallet creation and can use it to restore the wallet in MEW or any other wallet interface. Users can also recover other crypto wallets in MEW Mobile using their recovery phrase.

Does the wallet have fiat on-ramps through credit/debit cards, wire transfers, or bank transfers (ACH)?

Yes, users are able to buy crypto with a credit/debit cards via integrated providers Simplex, MoonPay, and Coinbase Pay.

Does the wallet support withdrawals to fiat?

Yes, users can sell crypto and have fiat deposited into a bank account via integrated partner MoonPay.

Is the wallet a multi-signature wallet?

No

Does the wallet support social recovery?

hi @Foboz is it possible to share fee % or calculation for the external providers Mew mobile uses?

Swaps incur fees set by our integrated providers, and vary depending on provider. All fees are shown in the transaction preview before the user confirms the transaction.

The wallet is free to use. Users only pay network fees for sending transactions. Swaps incur fees set by our integrated providers, and vary depending on provider, ranging 0.875 - 1%. All fees are shown in the transaction preview before the user confirms the transaction
