Remixd update failed and Remixd uninstall failed

Describe the bug
I saw my version of Remixd was at 0.6.38 but the lastest is 0.6.41 so I updated with
npm install -g @remix-project/remixd

Then remixd was not at 0.6.41 but at 0.6.16 which I found to be somewhat curious.
So I uninstalled with npm uninstall -g remixd and then ran the install but it stayed at v0.6.16.
Then I ran the uninstall command again and then ran remixd again.

It should not have run but it did and was still stuck on 0.6.16
