EEG Governance and Proposal Framework

Abstract

This document serves as the inaugural Ethereum Event Gardeners Improvement Proposal (EEGIP). It outlines the mission, objectives, and governance structure of the Ethereum Event Gardeners and serves as a guideline for future EEGIPs.

Motivation

In the expansive ecosystem of Ethereum, there exists a need for a coordinated, community-driven effort to organize, enhance, and diversify events. This EEGIP aims to establish a formal process to propose and enact initiatives that contribute to this vision.

Specification

Mission

To cultivate a vibrant, inclusive, and diverse Ethereum community through events, gatherings, and education.

Objectives

  1. Promote decentralization in event planning and execution.
  2. Foster a culture of inclusivity and diversity.
  3. Encourage open participation and collaboration.

Governance Structure

  1. Proposal Submission: Any community member can submit an EEGIP.
  2. Review: Initial review by a committee to assess the feasibility and alignment with mission and objectives.
  3. Community Discussion: Open forum for community members to debate and refine the proposal.
  4. Voting: Final approval through community vote or consensus.

EEGIP Format

  1. Abstract: Brief summary of the proposal.
  2. Motivation: Rationale behind the proposal.
  3. Specification: Detailed description, including any technical requirements.
  4. Implementation: Steps for executing the proposal.

EEGIP Lifecycle

  1. Draft: Initial proposal state.
  2. Discussion: Open for community debate.
  3. Accepted: Approved and ready for implementation.
  4. Implemented: Successfully carried out.
  5. Deferred/Rejected: Not approved or postponed for later reconsideration.

Implementation

This proposal will be considered accepted once it receives approval from a majority of the Ethereum Event Gardeners community members and steering committee. Future EEGIPs will follow the framework established herein.
