Adding Linea networks

Hi!

I'm from ConsenSys organization and we would be happy to help adding Linea (mainnet + testnet) as part of already registered ethers.js supported networks.
So far we plan to propose a PR with the following files modified:

• https://github.com/ethers-io/ethers.js/blob/main/src.ts/providers/network.ts#L425
• https://github.com/ethers-io/ethers.js/blob/main/src.ts/providers/provider-infura.ts#L35

Should we check any other files? Also, is this the right way to add a new network for your project?

Hi @Akaryatrh, can you include the chain id and public RPC URLs of Infura/Alchemy for the networks? If you can create a feature request that'd be great.

@zemse Thanks a lot for your quick response! We wanted first to get the process right before opening anything 🙂
OK, so once we will have the RPC endpoints info validated, for sure we will create a feature request. No need for a PR then?

Feel free to do a PR, that will actually expedite the process. For security reasons, PRs may not be merged in the way you might expect, for reference: #4086 (comment).
