Smooth universal position regulation

Some universals, such as windows or doors, should be able to be moved into any position and stay that way. Pressing a key would still bring it to one of two extremes, but being able to drag a window with a mouse into an arbitrary position in between the defined positions and let it stay that way could be interesting.
