can you describe the prob a little more? does it give you a line # and error? seems to me it would poll for every user found in the users table.. if no users exist, nothing gets polled, right?

What I gather is the script dies if it fails to supply correct login credentials for the API call. At least that's what I think is happening.

I believe this user has correct credentials, but other users in the database do not have correct credentials causing the script to fail before the user mentioned above can run.
