I think feather is by far the cleanest icon kit out here and yet I still opt for FontAwesome more often than not because of the vast collection of icons. Is there anything we as creatives & fans can do to incentivize designing new icons, or fund new collections of icons?

I mean you guys could just start creating new issues and fund them on Issuehunt or Gitcoin.

For example creating an issue for religion related icons. Everybody who's interested could throw in a couple of bucks and fund them on above sites. I'll probably create one for religious icons this week as I really need some of them.

Ideas for some collections:

  • zodiac signs
  • religious icons
  • bradings (keep their usage in mind, some do not allow copying of their designs. An example wold be Bluetooth. Tinkering with the Bluetooth icon is not allowed. You can't provide a striked through version of it IIRC)
  • sport signs (climbing, food ball, basket ball, tennis ball etc.)
  • vehicles
  • buildings (church, town hall, store, super market etc.)
  • animals
  • chinese year animals
  • beverages

The list goes on. FontAwesome has a great overview of their categories.

@brandonmcconnell #171 is here to help you and other people. There are already icons from the community waiting to be merged (and there has been recent changes!), but we need @colebemis to merge them.
