QUESTION: Should Sovereignty auto-populate?

• EMu does not populate child records automatically. Do we want it to or not?
• What about places where the child does not have the same jurisdiction as the parent?
• What about searching in EMu?

DECISION: Not at this time: use report/export/code to handle these situations.

Can/Should we use the Sovereignty field to document Non Federal indigenous localities?

• Ask Anthro/Repatriation

TASK: Add the next EMu meeting agenda.

QUESTION: Should we use the aquatic parent for unambiguous terrestrial localities?

DECISION: No This is not necessary.

TASK: Clean up records that have an aquatic parent that don't need one.

How do we document Hawaii?

Is the opposite situation to the Guam example.

Are we ok to have multiple country level records where the country is validly in more than one continent?

In order to do this currently we will need to have 2 Country records for the US. One with Oceania as the political parent and one with North America.

• Any concerns? CP is to take this back to Anthropology to think it through.
