I'm interested! It looks like they made major changes to the game. If you teach me the technique on how to reverse-engineer the protocol (if there is a technique), I would love to participate.

Late late response but, after combining the research of firebolt, CX88, and Spade Squad, as well as our own research we did over the course of covid, a team of developers and I have coded diepcustom. Which is an almost-full deep clone of diepio; it replicates the protocol and physics of a real diep server. If you're still interested in recreating the game, feel free to check out our repo/discord, would love all the help we can get :)
