ZmejkaFDS - universal FDS administration and parametrizing tool

Dear FDS community

A small international group of Fire Safety specialists on behalf of average FDS enjoyers would like to present ZmejkaFDS - a completely free FDS administration tool that manages and parametrizes .fds. allowing you to Start,, Stop, Pause and Resume simulations, speed them up, plot graphics and automate some parametric changes.

Currently the only available language is Russian. We are pleased to announce our intention to release an English version by the year 2025.

Roadmap for 2025-2030 is:

• Translate the core app from AHK to Python to enhance robustness and flexibility;
• Design and implement a sequencer featuring an intuitive user interface, enabling streamlined management and interaction with multiple FDS processes simultaneously, allowing any user to easily create, control and manage their own computational clusters;
• Facilitate the splitting and concatenating of FDS scenario files, organizing them into functional and parametric components for improved usability when dealing with multi-storey buildings;
• Enable real-time modification of the core count utilized in multiprocessing during active simulations, without the need to terminate ongoing FDS and MPI processes;
• Expand a set of graphs to be able to plot.

The main aim of ZmejkaFDS is to complement and simplify the work in software packages such as Fenix+, Urban, Pyrosim.
However, ZmejkaFDS strives to expand its functionality and accessibility for ordinary users, simplifying work with FDS and SMV in general.

Modules

ZmejkaFDS has 7 modules with unique features:

• One of the unique features of the ZmejkaFDS is its ability to convert FDS6 scenario into FDS5 without loss of calculation results, speeding up ordinary and HVAC simulations, making them incredibly fast. ZmejkaFDS converts FDS6->FDS5 and then ResultsFDS5->ResultsFDS6.
• PCTT - implements a so-called Russian approach to calculating the operating time of fire detectors.
• PFED - plotting the density of human flows (Fenix+ compatible only).
• FSF - correction of fire simulation parameters to achieve a complete quadratic correspondence between the time of fire development and HRR.
• HRRP - HRR plotting.
• FMT - allows you to interact with the MESH, split it into several small calculation areas, increase or decrease the cell size.
• MDBL - allows you to add additional boundary measurement to the FDS fire model, and also automatically determines the calculation method.
