Hi everyone

As most of you know there exists a new fork known as FMD2 from dazedcat aka riderkick which is in active and almost too fast development.
While our own FMD repo still gets some website fixes I'd like to inform you that our FMD repo will be archived and hence discontinued at the end of October 2020.

Some sidenotes and a few words about the future:

  • The best known FMD version was originally a fork maintained by riderkick. We forked from his repository and maintained FMD for some time which worked surprisingly well, though a bit slow on my end.

  • The developer of FMD2 named dazedcat is actually riderkick, just using a new account and name. Please don't pester him about it though. I just thought it might help you understand why I stopped working on the FMD code base, knowing he's working on it again.

  • dazedcat/riderkick is not a community person, so we won't close down our Discord server. We will still be present and help if possible. Even if you're having trouble with FMD2, as long as they are simple user problems, we may still be able to help you.

  • If dazedcat/riderkick stops working on FMD2 and vanishes again, if not already done by someone else, I will once again fork his repository and continue to maintain it.

  • If I will begin to maintain a new fork again you should probably know about my thoughts on FMD:
"I'm not really well versed in Pascal as a programming language and it takes so much time just for the smallest fixes at times. That's why I will only focus on basic functionalities like fixing website modules or network issues. Things like manga lists, even though you can just paste links to get the manga info, are not necessary features as I see FMD as a downloader and not as a browser/viewer/manager. I understand the benefits of such features but if you're on low maintaining power you should keep it simple. It's another story if someone can help with that though."

For now that's all I think.

Stay healthy.
Best regards.

SDXC
