Suddenly there's a delay to init keys

Hi, my config is as follows:

local which_key_mappings = {...}

return {
  'folke/which-key.nvim',
  event = "VeryLazy",
  init = function()
    vim.o.timeout = true
    vim.o.timeoutlen = 300
  end,
  config = function()
    local wk = require('which-key')
    wk.add(which_key_mappings)
  end
}

When I start nvim I immediately hit ctrl+p, but since which-key has not initialized yet it doesn't work.
This issue started when the new add interface was added.

Any ideas on how to solve this?

Any ideas here? basically I'm wondering why suddenly initializing which-key is slower than before implementing the add interface
