Issue with thumbnails with more than 1 carousel.

If I have 2 carousels, and choose to watch one, scrolling the background and the next carousels thumbnail is on the darkened overlay layer. I use flowplayer to popup the video. See image:

I cant figure out why. Applying a z-index via css to just that thumbnail doesn't work. Any help appreciated.
