Is the feature request related to a problem? Please describe. / Describe the feature you'd like

Groups filter the Timeline by contacts and make them available in a separate view. A group is thus always a subset of the timeline.

I would like to be able to define a group with contacts whose content only appears in this group. The posts of these contacts should not be displayed in the timeline.

This gives me the possibility to realise different scenarios:

  • Filtering on specific topics that I want to follow in a concentrated form.
  • Remove annoying contacts from the timeline, but whose content I still want to see regularly (who are not blocked or muted)
  • ..combined with filters where content is collapsed, but which is disturbing in the Timeline.
  • Other use cases

Maybe this, by now, could be achieved with the new channels feature? By now, we build channels by selecting a circle or another channel that is included. Could this by chance be inverted, too - as in "use all date except for people from this particular circle/channel"?

I'm currently thinking about an option in the contacts to hide them on the network page. by doing so, you could for example create channels with posts from these contacts, so that you still could have got a look at their posts - but not on the network page.

Partially related to this (if needed I'll open a separate issue): is there any chance to have posts from contacts with the "Channel Only" option activated excluded from the home timeline which is obtained with the GET v1/timelines/home (Mastodon API)? Related to this request on a client app.
