DMR hurts my ears when people talk too close to the microphone or the gain is set too high, especially on the small speaker of the D878. On Brandmeister, there's the Parrot which is useful for making adjustments, but that requires a roundtrip to the repeater. It would be good if the HT notified you when you're clipping, perhaps by blinking the LED or flashing something on the LCD. Something similar could be done when the D878 is receiving DMR audio so the owner doesn't blame the quality of their radio for sounding so harsh.
