Description

Reported by rollbar. 18 times between 2024-04-13 and 2024-08-19 on productions server.

Doesn't seem like a big deal but we ought to catch and set default and find out why it is sometimes not there.

If this is new I wonder if its because you can now successfully load any subdomain given #2514. It will do a redirect - but maybe it hits this error first.

Are we sure we don't want to catch this and set a default? There may be other ways for it to happen.
